Highlands and Islands Enterprise, through Skills Development Scotland, has entered into a partnership with Windmills; a partnership which is facilitating the delivery of an innovative and creative range of resources to individuals and organisations across the Highlands and Islands. The partnership is making a notable contribution towards the stated aim of Highlands and Islands Enterprise – "to enable people living in the Highlands and Islands to realise their full potential on a long term sustainable basis"
Skills Development Scotland defines the term "career" as a "unique pathway through life", and does not differentiate the issue of career planning from life planning. Iain Eisner (Windmills Project Development Manager for Careers Scotland HIE) said, "We are keen that the population of the Highlands and Islands strive towards 'career resilience' – the ability to manage and plan our careers, adjusting and adapting our decision making to changing circumstances, throughout our lives, not just when things go wrong! In short, we want the people of the Highlands and Islands to build Windmills, not walls!"
In partnership with Windmills, Skills Development Scotland will be able to support individuals and organisations across the Highlands and Islands with life and career planning. The partnership will also add value to our existing and ever increasing range of products and services.
We were delighted to establish our partnership arrangement with Skills Development Scotland. Through this mutually beneficial relationship Windmills has gained a network of enthusiastic, committed and positive individuals across the region of Highlands and Islands who are keen to share Windmills benefits, principles and programmes with their clients and contacts.
Iain Eisner of Skills Development Scotland has worked closely with Windmills, sharing his experience and improving his knowledge of Windmills to meet the needs of his client groups and the agenda of Skills Development Scotland. Our partnership continues to grow with more trainers being accredited and more organisations in the Highlands and Islands utilising and implementing our programmes. We share an on-going commitment to product and business development.
