The Regional Development Agencies are government—sponsored public bodies set up in 1998. RDAs work with the government but are independent of party affiliation. The Northwest Regional Development Agency is responsible for the sustainable economic development and regeneration of England's Northwest.
It aims to achieve this by driving economic development and regeneration initiatives, stimulating business competitiveness and encouraging investment, skills training and enterprise.
The NWDA provides strategic leadership, programmes and funding to ensure the sustainable economic development and regeneration of England's Northwest, one of the United Kingdom's largest and most important regions.
The agency works at regional and local levels with partners in the public, private, voluntary and academic sectors to achieve agreed objectives set out in a comprehensive economic plan known as the Regional Strategy.
The NWDA Skills Policy Team, is a key champion of Windmills. They have consistently and significantly supported our work and the development of Windmills resources and programmes.
Our partnership with the NWDA has allowed us to make use of talent and develop Windmills resources that ensure our programmes improve 'win:win' partnerships between employers and employees in the region.
